Do you have a closet full of T-shirts that hold special meaning to you or a family member? Do you have T-shirts from family vacations or summer camps, T-shirts from your child’s years of playing soccer or field hockey? Have you saved all of your baby’s Onesies and cute, little outfits that you can’t bear to part with? If so, then a T-shirt quilt (or two or three) just might be the thing!

You can make a t-shirt quilt even if you have never made a quilt before. If you can sew a straight line and sew an accurate quarter inch seam, then you can make a T-shirt quilt! Let’s get those special T-shirts out of closets, boxes, and bags, and turn them into something you or a loved one can enjoy. Everything you learn from this quilt can be applied to any other T-shirt or memory quilt. Join Letitia Mattu as she guides you through the process.

In Class #1 you will learn how to:

• Inventory the T-shirts
• Choose and prepare T-shirts
• Stabilize the T-shirts
• Discuss possible quilt layouts

In Class #2 you will:

• Begin the design process
• Lay out the T-shirts in your chosen design
• Cluster format
• Column format
• Pattern from a book (i.e. Disappearing Nine Patch)
• Begin cutting the t-shirts down to size

In Class #3 you will:

• Create T-shirt blocks
• Start assembling the T-shirts into a quilt top
• Talk about batting
• Discuss quilting options
