Prerequisite: The students need to have taken a Learn to Quilt or Beginning Piecing class prior to taking this class.

This series of classes will build on your existing skill set with more quilting techniques. Each class will feature 2 blocks; one block will be made in class and one block will be made for homework. There are 6 classes and 12 blocks so your confidence will build as you not only make a block in class but also making a block at home on your own. We will spend the last 1/2 hr. of the class to discuss the cutting and construction of the block you will make at home. And, as always, the instructor will be available for any questions. We will make a throw size quilt top and the students will feel confident with their quilting skills once this series of classes is complete. Supply List:

• Focus/Main fabric: 2 1/2 yds.
• (3) Coordinating tone on tone fabrics; 2 1/2 yds. each  Note: I used one color-purple for the sample and used a dark, medium, and light tone on tone purple.
• Background Fabric: 1 1/2 yds. Neutral color
• Sewing machine in good working order, power cord, foot pedal, manual
• All feet you have for your machine along with an open toe foot and 1/4” foot for your machine
• Quilter’s Wand acrylic ruler 
• For squaring up: Bloc-Lok 4 1/2” and 6 1/2” square rulers recommended 
• Neutral sewing thread
• Flat head pins
• Cutting mat, rotary cutter with extra blades, and a variety of acrylic rulers: 8 1/2” x 24”; 8 1/2” x 12”: 6 1/2” square ruler
• Scissors, seam ripper, and any other notions you need to have a better quilting experience.
