If you can sew a straight stitch, you can quilt! Students in this Learn to Quilt class will learn the basic construction and various techniques starting with easier methods and building up to more challenging methods as their confidence grows! Specific techniques are taught in each class session, along with the repetition and reinforcement on rotary cutting and previously taught piecing techniques, so that comfort zones and confidence can be established. Students are encouraged to ask questions. When the classes are complete, students will have either (4) beautiful placemats, or (1) wall hanging sized quilt. A bonus pattern will be provided at the end of class so students can use their knowledge to make a cool coordinating project.

"Cool Tools" will be introduced in each class session to make your quilting experience easier and more enjoyable! Handouts will be provided at each class as reference material for both in and out of class!


Supply List-

Students will need to select (5) cotton fabrics prior to the first class. Students will need:
Fabric 1- Focus Fabric 1-1/2 yards
Fabric 2- Coordinating fabric 1-1/2 yards
Fabric 3- Coordinating fabric 1-1/2 yards
Fabric 4- Coordinating fabric 1-1/2 yards
Fabric 5- Neutral Background fabric 1-1/2 yards

-Sewing machine in good working order, be sure to also pack your foot petal, power cord, manual, all feet that came with your machine
-Basic sewing supplies, needles, neutral colored thread, scissors, seam ripper
-Plastic template sheet for the applique class
-Heat resistant glass head pins
-Monopoly thread
-Rotary Cutter & Cutting mat
-Acrylic Rulers, 6"x24", 12-1/2"x12-1/2 square ruler, Easy Angle Triangle Ruler, 2"x18"
-Measuring tape
-Freezer Paper
-Painters Tape
-Thread conditioner for hand sewing
-Glue Stick
-Wooden Pressing Stick or seam roller (optional)
-Container to keep your sewing materials together (optional)
