Spend 2 action packed days learning how to fit and fashion a fun wardrobe of toppers using the Tabula Rasa Jacket pattern from Fit for Art Patterns. On day one, Rae and Carrie will help you identify the correct jacket size using sizing shells, adjust your pattern with your personal fit adjustments, cut, mark, and sew your mock-up. The first session will close with a look at possible fabrics students brought for a wearable mock-up. On day two, students will begin designing and making their own wearable jacket, see and learn about supports and finishes that will make your jackets beautiful and functional for years. Finally, instructors will touch on the wide range of possibilities for future mixed fiber jackets, quilted jackets, drapey tops and shirts.


Supply List for Tabula Rasa Jacket Workshop

-Class Kit Available from Instructors on Class Day ($25.00 due to instructors)
-Tabula Rasa Jacket Pattern from Fit for Art Patterns (included in Class Kit)
-Sewing machine in good working order
-Serger, if desired
-Basic garment sewing notions
-Cutting tools you prefer
-Ruler, see-through, preferably 18" x 2" (or larger)
-Fashion ruler (optional, available for use during class and purchase from Fit for Art Patterns)
-3 yards of good quality muslin or other light color, non-stretch fabric with a bit of drape for a mock up
-Tape and paper for pattern adjustment (included in Class Kit)
-Thread to match fabric
-Fabrics being considered for your first jacket
