Ray's Rail Table Runner with Ray Hill
Come spend the day making a table runner. This simple pattern has the Split Rail Fence block at its heart with 2-1/2” square blocks on either end and multiple borders. You may choose to use pre-cuts or pull from your stash – it’s a great scrap buster!
Fabric requirements include:
For Units A and B - A jelly roll or any set of 2-1/2” precuts or if assembling fabrics from stash, you will need a variety of fabric strips measuring 2-1/2” w x 20” l (You may choose to use 22 different strips or you may use 11 different fabrics if cut to 2-1/2” x WOF which will utilize each fabric multiple times)
For Inner borders choose a solid contrasting fabric – you will need ¼ yard
For Outer borders choose a fabric that pulls all your other fabrics together – you will need ½ yard.
For Binding – You will need 1/3 yard
For Backing – You will need 1 yard of fabric if you are quilting the runner on a domestic machine. You will need a back that measures 36”w x 52”l if you are quilting the runner on a longarm.
For Batting – I would recommend Quilter’s Dream 100% cotton batting in either Request or Select thickness. You will need a 60” x 60” batt.
