Quick & Fun Notebook Cover Class with Ray Hill

In this 3-hour class, learn to sew several quick, easy fabric covers to elevate the lowly composition notebook to something special.  Directions will be given to cut, sew and finish two different styles of cover using just 3 coordinating fat quarters each.

These covered notebooks make fun affordable gifts, project records, journals, and are great for back-to-school uses.  They may be embellished with ribbon, buttons and quilting as desired.

Instructor will have several types of Composition books available for purchase at $3.00/piece, or students may provide their own.

You will need:

Sewing machine in good working order

2 sets of 3 coordinated fat quarters with thread to match or contrast.  There will be enough time in class to make & finish two covers

Several pieces of thin batting such as Quilter’s Dream Request or thin flannel cut to 12” x 22”

2 pieces of grosgrain ribbon 12” L x ½” to ¾” W to coordinate with cover fabric to use as a book marker for each cover

Cutting mat that will handle open fat quarters, rotary cutter and 18” x 6” ruler, straight pins, purple thang, small scissors, or snips

Embellishments, buttons, etc. if desired

Light lunch or snack with drink

There will be an ironing board, iron, and a large cutting mat provided by Spring Water Designs.  Water, coffee, and tea are always available in our Break Room.
