Swirling Wheel Hand Piecing Class with Barbara Burnham
Hand piecing is an enjoyable and relaxing way of making quilts with a few basic techniques and minimal tools, and portable enough to take almost anywhere to stitch in peace and quiet, alone or with friends. For this block, choose contrasting or coordinated fabrics, or go wild with florals, stripes, and prints. Learn how to plan and approach hand piecing of complex block designs with sharp points, triangles, inset seams, and curves. Learn several ways to make templates, mark your fabrics, and sew your block with running stitch methods. Set your circle into background fabric with hand pieced corners or hand applique techniques. Barbara teaches with a video projection system so everyone can see closeups.
