Flange Binding (the easy way)
Continuous Bias Binding (Calculating, Cutting, and Attaching)
Binding Rounded Corners
Mitering corners that are greater than and less than 90 degrees (diamonds, hexagons, and octogons)
Required Supplies:
Sewing machine in good working order
¼” Foot
Foot petal, cords, and manual
Thread and threaded bobbins
Rotary cutter
Cutting mat (optional)
24” Ruler
Scissors (not just snips)
Seam ripper
Pins
Pen and paper for taking notes
Pencil
Flange Binding- Two 1/8 yard pieces of fabric that look nice together, maybe a print and a solid
Continuous Bias Binding- 18” to 25” square of scrap fabric
TWO quilted fat quarter samples* or something small to practice binding (think placemat size) (*Sandwich two fat quarters with a piece of batting in between and quilt it. An all over meander or some parallel lines are fine; we don’t need anything fancy. NOTE: One of these will be cut up, so please just use scraps or old fat quarters for the sandwich)
