This class is for everyone ~ New AccuQuilt owners, as well as those who have had their machines for a while, but would like additional instruction. So, Unpack (or dust off) your AccuQuilt GO!, and bring it to class for a great beginner (or refresher) class that will teach you (or remind you) of all of the wonderful things you can do with your AccuQuilt GO! cutter! Learn the basics of hand applique as you stitch your first Baltimore-style block with Mimi Dietrich! This four session class includes step-by-step instructions for stitching stems, leaves, circles, dimensional folded buds, birds, and a Baltimore Rose. Building a library of free-motion quilting designs is fun - and it's easier that you think! A Handi Quilter National Educator will guide you through exploring different designs - from simple blocks to an all-over design - you can create designs that can be used to complete any quilt! Curious to learn how to paper piece or think you don't like it because it seemed to be too challenging? This class will show you how easy it is to do Foundation Paper Piecing (which by the way, is a popular technique especially when you want sharp points on a quilt project). In this class you will make a tulip wall hanging/ table runner that will encourage you to put paper piecing in your quilting technique arsenal and maybe want to make you next project a paper pieced quilt. In the class you will learn how to load your quilt top, backing & batting, wind your bobbins, the basics of using the machine, and the guidelines of how to work in our SWD Longarm Rental Program. You will be working on a machine by yourself with our Mentor and you will load your own small quilt, or sample fabric. The Love Your Featherweight Class with Kathy Farra (The Machine Lady) will enable the owner of a vintage Singer Featherweight Sewing machine to have confidence when cleaning and maintaining their machine to keep it running well for years to come. Kathy will discuss history of the featherweight machines, as well as go over the basic oiling and maintenance that is required to keep the machines in top working order.
